“…..we are in the southern part of Tuscany, in front of the Elba island, famous for Napoleon’s imprisonment. Not far from Florence and Siena, the region is cut across by the ancient Aurelia road. On a hilly landscape lies Suvereto, a small and charming medievil village with olive trees and vineyards, whose area houses what for generations has been known as the “Bulichella”.

In 1983 four families coming from different sides of Italy made this their new home attracted by the beauty and uniqueness of this area. Spurred by mutual ideals and targets they committed themselves with much dedication to the making of wine and growing of vegetables without any use of chemical fertilizer, in respect of nature and landscape. As the years went by the needs of the four families changed and in year 2000 Mr. Miyakawa Hideyuki stemming from Japan and his wife Maria Luisa Bassano became the sole owners.

The couple, very close and full of energy, took initial targets with much dedication to a further step improving considerably the Farm.

In these last years Bulichella underwent two major renovation projects, one concerning the improvement of the facilities for farm holidays. The other project involved the building of a new cellar thus improving the wine production thanks to high technical machinery and a room for the aging in barriques.

All of these new investments were of course carried out with a low impact on environment and the Farm obtained certification by ICEA, one of the most important national organizations for organic control.

In year 2001 Bulichella achieved excellent reviews in major national wine guides such as Gambero Rosso, Espresso and Veronelli...a clear sign that quality can be obtained in full respect of nature and sorrounding environment.
